NCS Conservation
Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS®), an independent affiliate of NGC, provides expert professional conservation services for collections of coins, tokens and medals. Coin conservation can help remove harmful residues and stabilize the surface of your coin, revealing the beauty of your most cherished possessions.
A handful of surface conditions can make coins ineligible for NGC grading and encapsulation, but may be improved through professional conservation. These include coins with heavy or destabilizing surface residues. Over time, such contaminants can mask defects and cause undesirable haze, spots and even permanent damage to these coins.
Fortunately, Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS) specializes in their removal and the neutralization of a coin’s surface. Once conserved by NCS, coins can be transferred to NGC for certification, where depending on their surface condition they may be either numerically or Details Graded.
Below are just a few examples of NCS Conservation.
